WiCKED MOXiE Makeup Brush Holder on ETSY! (2 coupon codes!)

Happy Cyber Funday!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! For those that got their shop on, I hope you weren't tackled, frost-bitten, or pepper sprayed for simply trying to score some deals. (I hear it got uggg-ly out there!)

On this Cyber Monday, I wanted to share the first launch of my very own handmade line: WiCKED MOXiE!

CLICK ON THIS POSTING'S TITLE TO CHECK IT OUT! (there's more items to come in the future but perfection takes time, lol)

If you'd like to gift one or scoop one up for yourself, these coupon codes are valid until December 15th: HOLIDAYFREESHIPPING (for free shipping) & WICKEDMOXIE2011 (for 15% off!)

(pix near the bottom since this is the app & I can't format this)

I usually keep my brushes in my Inglot brush belt when they're clean, but I was sick of keeping the dirty/used ones in a coffee mug so I developed something with flare to store them in while I'm doing my makeup or while I'm with a client.

This glittered skull can be made in the color of your choice and is the perfect organizer for your makeup station, vanity, or office. Whether you are a huge fan of blinged out accessories or love anything reminiscent of "Dia De Los Muertos" this skull is the perfect combo of style and function. Your personal space will be complete with this touch of eccentric glam!

The skull measures roughly 5 inches in depth, 3.75 by 4.5 inches in width, and tapers towards the base. The inside is filled approximately a third of the way with acrylic black gems to help keep your makeup brushes, art utensils, or office supplies in order.

The inside is easy to clean and although full immersion is not recommended, the inside may be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Like with any glittered product, one may find there might be a small amount of glitter specks that flake during its first couple of uses, but rest assured it was carefully constructed and there won't be any "bald" spots as a result.

If you have any questions regarding this item, please feel free to contact me!

Its been too long...

Poop! So I'm blogging from the Blogger App (which by miracle hasn't crashed long enough to write this)!

As summer came to an end, I told myself I'd commit to blogging more frequently...then my comp took matters into its own hands! My good ol' lappy caught the motherload of viruses and I haven't been able to go online, let alone blog from it for over almost 2 months. I didn't want to believe that perhaps Blogger had some crazy connection to it all, but it turned out that it does. Although most of the problems are gone, I'm literally scared to blog off of it!

To add to that, I think I've just fallen into an slump of technological bad luck: my "hand-me-down" iPhone receives/notifies me about calls/texts when it wants to : ) you've gotttta love it! So while I attempt to leave some Christmas shopping money for the new model, I'll settle for the bad taste I'm leaving in people's mouths for thinking I'm ignoring them. If you know me, then you should know I'm not doing it on purpose. (granted it seems to play Hanging With Friends just fine, so odd.. find me: theritzbitz!)

On the VERY brightside, I will be sharing some extraaaordinary items I've been working on that I will be selling on Etsy come this BLACK FRIDAY! Please stay tuned my fellow friends and makeup lovers and thanks for hanging in there! Off to continue starving myself 'til Thursday MmMmm...

First round of goodies for the BEAUTY portion of my BLOG SALE!

This section of my blog sale will continuously be updated, so stay posted--I'm a beauty product shopaholic!!

These items have been stashed away in my makeup kit, hair styling kit or beauty drawers. They are on sale on the MOXiE VANiTY page of my blog.

Whether they are still brand new in their box, tested out for a color swatch, or gently used, they are quite the bargain. Through the years my beauty collection has grown immensely. From gratis back when I worked for MAC, going nuts with different employee discounts, or purchasing products just because they were "limited edition" I need to think twice about what I store. If a product is used: it has been solely in my possession, only used on a clean face with a clean brush, sanitized after its use, and has never been swiped by a finger (when I see people do that to test out a product it makes me throw-up a little in my mouth)!

MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

Moxie FOTD: Rihanna-esque Clean Neutrals With a Kick!

I love me some
Ri-Ri! She's got some drool-worthy style and her makeup is always flawless. Most of the time she's rockin' a cleanly blended look, fairly simple, a dash of color here and there, topped with her signature cat-eye liner and faux lashes.

Don't get me wrong, I love when she sports a bright or dark/edgy smoky eye, but let's be real, you'll look pretty odd meeting up your Boo for a walk in the park looking like you stepped out of her S&M vid! With that in mind, today I dolled up in some natural shades, added some spice with a bit of bright yellow, and was on my way...

What I Used:
Eyes
-Base MAC Painterly Paint Pot (from lid to brow)
-Brows MAC Dipdown Fluidline (for definition) & Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow (for a more reddish tone)
-Rock & Republic eyeshadow in Ambition swished, NOT packed from the inner crease to the brow bone
-Crease MAC Tete-A-Tint eyeshadow
-MAC Canary Yellow eyeshadow packed on the inner third of the eye
-Upper Liner MAC Boot Black liquid liner
-Lower Liner Rock & Republic eyeshadow in Ambition on the inner half, MAC Knight Divine on the outer half
-Lashes Maybelline One by One Waterproof Mascara & MAC faux lashes in style #2
Face
-MAC Face & Body Foundation, set with Invisible Set Loose Powder
-MAC Well Dressed Blush
Lips
-ELF Glossy Gloss in Berry Blush

Here's two of the many pics of the red-headed beauty flaunting natural yet amped up looks:

Remember neutral doesn't always have to be boring!

(Cue the False Lashes) My, What Big Eyes You Have!

Have you ever thought to yourself, "mannn, I just spent a good amount of time on my eye makeup, but what the heck is missing?"

LASHES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Seriously, take the extra time you are using to blend a bazillion shadows into oblivion and pop on some faux lashes. Lush lashes are the perfect way to amp up your look!
(taken with flash) I took this prior to blending the faux lash band with my own lashes using
Ardell Lash Magic Blending Mascara, so you could see how I "flip" the middle part up a tad to open up the eye more.
When I'm feeling like I want an EXTRA oomph I double them up-yes-I double stack them (I tend to do this with my bridal clients. When the right pairs are stacked, you get lashes that flirt with the whole room every time you blink!)
As for the eye products I used:
-NYX Eye Shadow Base in Natural (from lid to brow)
-Brows Dipdown Fluidline (for definition), Cork eyeshadow (for filler)
-Highlight just swished on some MAC Invisible Set Powder (there was already tons of shimmer going on!)
-Crease MAC Club eyeshadow
-Lid NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment
-Inner Lid a mixture of MAC Gorgeous Gold and Forgery eyeshadows
-Upper Liner NYC Liquid Liner in Black
-Lower Liner Graphic Brown Fluidline, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment, defined with Contrast eyeshadow
-Waterline MAC Humid eyeshadow
-Lashes Maybelline Waterproof One by One Mascara and Red Cherry Faux Lashes style #600

In the future I'll have to post on my favorite lashes out there and how I apply them (I promise you'll be able to pop 'em on at a stoplight! -you shouldn't if you're driving of course *wink, wink*) I've seen tons of awesome posts using everything from toothpicks to tweezers, my method's a smidge more straight forward I assure you! Happy lash batting!

Moxie BALLER On A Budget: GLAM STORAGE!

(please excuse this repost if you read it the first time, it was deleted when I was trying to fix my feed)
Alright guys, perhaps one day I will be able to shellac the west wing of my home in mirror tiles, or accent it with OVERPRICED furnishings from places like Z Gallery, but until then, its safe to say I have NO shame being a BALLER on a budget!

I needed somewhere to stash away my skincare products, nail polish, cleaning supplies, and just stuff you don't need everyone that comes to checkout your new room to see, i.e. feminine hygiene shhtuff... Also, I don't have much extra room in my quarters, so I couldn't dedicate a wall to anything. I needed something that could store a bit, but stored it in height, not in width, like the shape of lingerie drawers, like the one pictured down below, but less "Mariah Carey" looking (no offense if you enjoy her music or her taste in uber girly things). Mind you the lingerie drawers in the collage below cost about $450 at their cheapest!
Behold, my Inspiration:
When I redid my room, I tried to make it as lofty looking as possible. I'd describe its decor as a "Rock Glam Modern" bedroom hahahh, I'm serious if you Google that, the images are drool worthy. Its walls are black, the furnishings are red, and there are hints of white here and there, topped off with a sexy damask-ish fluffy ginormous rug layering the floor like carpet.
So my end result was this:

Lovely right???? ...just nod... Let me show you how I created it for a grand total of about $95, a crap load of patience, and annoying meticulousness. Most def, the look for less!
What I used:
The steps I took:
1. I assembled the Helmer from Ikea, thank goodness I love putting stuff together because it came in million pieces. Check out this great YouTube timelapse showing all of the drama, I love the beer/wine bottle next to him on the floor!
2. Instead of building all 6 drawers I needed the last set to be tweaked with a tad so I could fit a couple of products upright. I took the tallest product and figured I had to combine 3 drawers as you can see to the right.    -------->
3. Once the body was assembled, I waited to add the drawer fronts since I needed to shnazz them up! I used the mirror tile panels I purchased from Kit Krafts. I sliced them up with a X-Acto knife, leaving room to use a hole puncher for the drawer handles to be screwed on.
4. Once all that jazz was done, I carefully applied the panels. I honestly thought it was going to be easy, but I was sooo wrong, I might as well have applied them tile by tile! I had to slice them up in even smaller panels to make sure they lined up right and when I got to the larger drawer I had to cut many of them down to singles in some areas!
5. After spray painting the handles black so it wouldn't look like a filing cabinet, I screwed them on and added them to the drawers. For the larger drawer I only added 1 handle in the middle and mirrored up the rest. I used epoxy to hold the 3 door fronts together and then reinforced the back a little more with Mighty Putty.

I hope I've inspired at least one of you to try making your own GLAMified drawers. These totally beat keeping everything in those plastic pullout drawers, plus I hate how they aren't easy to keep clean!

OH BLOGGER, IS IT TRUE?!?

Just when I was frustrated enough to delete my whole blog and start over else where, it seems that my feed/xml/cache/whatever the hell was wrong with Blogger was fixed as of yesterday...

I apologize for all of the "test" posts! I'm bummed I had to delete 2 posts (and their comments) trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with my feed, I will be reposting them right after this one. To go along with the bad luck I've encountered with the technology in my life, my iPhone, aka my CHILD, has passed on to a better place after falling victim to water damage... WAHHHH! So my contacts are gone and I'm missing out on everyone around me's newest obsession: Hanging With Friends. DOUBLE WAHHH! I'm holding out on an upgrade until the 5 hits the market.

On the bright-side I'm back from a long Lake Tahoe getaway (one of my fave locations), so I'm feeling refreshed and enthused to get back to work and blogging!

Coming up (in no particular order) is the long over do start of my blog sale, Thank You Giveaway of Goodies, blog award post and some glam iKea hacking...don't be a stranger now!

Aww, another blog award!

(please excuse this repost if you read it the first time, it was deleted when I was trying to fix my feed)
Thank you so much to Ev from Mozzarella and Makeup for awarding me the Liebster Blog Award! Its so easy to get discouraged to keep the ball rolling on with a new blog, so it warmed my heart when I read this.

I borrowed history the history behind the award and rules of it from her site:
It is said that the Liebster Blog Award started in Germany with the intention to
highlight smaller blogs that are less known. (Blogs of less than 300 followers).
It is a blog that you accept with the intention of paying it forward. When you accept the award, you choose 3-5 other blogs that you feel are deserving of more subscribers and pass the award on to them. It's not mandatory, but it's just a nice thing to do :-) I'm always discovering new blogs so it's good to get the word out and help other bloggers get discovered as well.

I love the world of blogging and find myself reading my feed frequently. Some (but not limited to, there are SO many GREAT ONES out there) blogs I think are worth more subscribers are:

Review: Essie Clearly Matte with Love and Beauty Nail Polish

All I have to say is I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Essie's Clearly Matte Topcoat. Its really hard for me to find a nail polish that actually stays on. It seems to make the polish color you're coating more saturated, in this case, it made Love and Beauty's Neon Pink, more neon! Essie polish can get a tad pricey to collect but I grabbed this one off of Hautelook's Rock and Republic Cosmetics sale. The ONLY con about this topcoat is that the layers get heavy, and it'll chip with a quickness once you wash your hair out or do anything around the house where you're putting more pressure than usual on your fingertips.
It gets 3.85 out of 5 Moxie kisses LoL, I'd recommend it more for some fab weekend nails!

Personally, OPI and Sally Hansen polishes have never worked out, they've always been a one way ticket to Chipsville. The only color on my nails that I've loved have been by MAC, Confetti, Wet and Wild, Island Girl, and Sinful Colors. In my opinion, in the 'nails did' department, you want to spend the big bucks on your topcoat and/or your base coat if your nails need it. When I was shopping the other day, an electric hot pink caught my eye. Forever 21's dabble in the cosmetics department has been getting pretty positive reviews. So far I've tried nail polish and faux lashes from them and love them both! With only two coats the color was vibrant. I would suggest everyone to check them out, at only $2.80 a pop, you can afford to have a whole rainbow in your bathroom cabinet!
It gets 5 out of 5 Moxie kisses, they come in every color and can last about a week!
*don't mind the choppy application, hahaaha*

Get The Moxie Look: Latin GaGa

SO, I'm sitting on the couch relaxing with my sister, while my Godson is taking a long and extremely rare daytime nap...
Sis: *as we are catching up on our fave reality shows* So I was at work, and I saw this beautifully ethereal pic of the Gaga (we LOVE HER btw), I think its the look I want to do for this weekend's wedding...DO IT ON ME!
Me: OKAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! *as I pop up from the sofa, like someone said there's free MAC products in the kitchen* (mind you my sis pretty much OWNS in the beauty department, so I hardly get the chance to "paint her face" hahah)

First off, let me start by saying my sister usually falls under a NC35, Lady Gaga looks like she's naturally a C2/NC25, on the MAC skin spectrum, so certain products won't read the same on both. Here's what MAC suggests Gaga is wearing in her newest Viva Glam Ad:
On my sis, I ended up creating a more "wearable" look, being that she was thinking about wearing it out to a daytime wedding and she's a brunette. Since Gaga's Viva Glam 2 campaign launched I've seen a bazillion blog posts on this look, this is just my take on it.

What I used (all products MAC unless noted):
Face:
-Studio Moisture Fix mixed with Strobe Liquid
-Premium Triple Cream (around the eyes)
-Amazing Cosmetics Concealer (super blended)
-NO FOUNDATION, I hate her for her perfect skin! LMAO
-Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
Cheeks:
-Physicians Formula Powder Palette Bronzer (for contouring)
-Tenderling Blush throughout & Pinch O' Peach Blush (on the apples)
Eyes:
-Untitled Paint (from lid to brow)
-Brows Dipdown Fluidline (for definition), Cork eyeshadow (for filler)
-Highlight Brule eyeshadow, Mylar eyeshadow (tracing under the brow)
-Crease I mixed Girlie and Haux eyeshadows
-Lid NYX Cosmetics Eye Shadow Base in White, Gleam eyeshadow (scrapped off so its chunky)
-Inner Lid Vanilla Pigment
-Upper Liner NYC Liquid Liner in Black
-Lower Liner Graphic Brown Fluidline, Swiss Chocolate and Handwritten eyeshadows
-Waterline Fascinating Eye Kohl
-Lashes Cover Girl Lash Blast (she's a huge fan)
-Faux Lash #3 Lash stacked on the ends with Love & Beauty Full False Lashes (cut in half)
Lips:
-Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick
-Smashbox Lip Gloss in Champagne

Off to put some goodies together for my 100+ follower giveaway, thanks for all the love!

Holy Inglot Batman!

I just wanted to share some awesome news MOXiE Mavens! The stellar customer service department at Inglot contacted me to spread the news about the launch of their online store!!!!

I've always wanted to try Inglot, since I've heard to many great things about the line. Its one of the leading European makeup brands that has been successfully taking over new markets out here in the continental United States. The best way to describe them is if MAC and Illamasqua had a baby.
I have been drooling over their red (one my many favorite colors) brush belts, since I've replaced my MAC one twice already. I love that its patent leather, it makes it super easy to clean and sanitize! My MAC brush belt from the pro store always ends up crumbling up, chipping, and fading after about 2-3 years of wear, I can't wait to receive my new belt!!!

Another thing I wanted to share with you all is this AMAZING DEAL that popped into my inbox. Many of you are probably aware of BeautyTicket.com, but if your not, their deals are HOTTTT! This week's STEAL OF THE WEEK is insane, I can't believe I almost bought this with only my employee discount at Nordy's a few years back... OMG over $200 in savings!!!!! I have a full and professional airbrush compressor and products to go along with it, but ahhhhhhh, a gal should never pass up a ginormous steal! Click bellow to grab one before they sell out at this price:

Thank you to all my followers! I really appreciate your support, I can't wait to reach my first 100...just a smidgen more so I could announce my fab give away of some of my must-have FAVORITE products! Let's just say your makeup kit will thank you!

OoOo and I can't wait to show off my room renovation and tips and tricks to the DIY world of "remodeling" hahahahhh... wow I can't BELIEVE how long its taken me to gut my room, WHO KNEW I had so much stuff! I think a humongous blog sale is in order soon!

yay!! I've won a blog award!

First off I'd like to say thank you to the ever-so-stylish Amrilove for this award!

The way this award works is...

1. Thank & Link back to the person who gave you the Award. -check
2. Share 7 things about yourself. -see below
3. Award 15 people's blogs that you have discovered whilst blogging
-done, please check 'em out, even though I'm SURE you have : )
4. Contact these bloggers to let them know they have been given the award. -will do right after I post this

Seven things about myself (facts not in my post about some LITTLE KNOWN FACTS)
1. I'm a shorty, measuring up to 5 whole feet and 3 inches! Most people don't notice because I'm almost always in heels. hahaha What sucks the most is my nephew is almost a year old and everyone laughs when I carry him, he's half my height already!
2. I have a baby-ish face, especially without makeup. I'm always the one that gets IDed whether I'm buying lotto tickets, which you only have to be 18 for, or I'm simply trying to order a drink at the local watering hole!
3. I have an odd appetite, sometimes I can demolish what feels like a whole large pizza and still be walking back to the kitchen an hour later, other times I'm rather bird-like and am kewl with my fave Kashi bar in the morn and a PB sandwich for dinner.
4. I love scary movies. If a movie trailer involves an exorcism, haunting, abduction, or psycho killer on the loose, I'm there.
5. My favorite ice cream flavor is Mocha Almond Fudge, MmmmmMMm, the Baskin Robbins version is what its all about!
6. During my tenure at MAC Cosmetics, I had the pleasure of  being an assistant manager and later a manager. Trust me, there's wayyyyy more that goes into the job description then makeup and trying to keep the tears from rolling down your chin from your 7th hour in stilettos : )
7. I have the most caring, patient, understanding, and loving (I could go on for hours) boyfriend in the world!!! Umm...insanely charming, handsome, and smart as well!! --that's right, I said it hahah

Now for the fun part, awarding 15 (this was hard) of my fave, in no particular order:
                                       1. jomakemeblush
                                       2. dulcecandy

Not RED-ISH, but RED!

A million years later, I'm backkk!! Since last time, I've survived the holidays, welcomed a new year, been dealing with a schedule that has me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, added a parent's emergency surgery to the mix, have had to put my room renovation on the back burner (bOOooo), and lastly just got back from one of my favorite places...Lake Tahoe (where I was FINALLY able to try out snowboarding-which I LOVED and can't wait to go back). I wanted to post this blog a bit ago, but since I've only been online to reach my clients or pay bills, I'm finally able to share how I dye my hair, brace yourself, this post is a tad pic and detail heavy...
First off, I'd like to share that during this process I had a RANDOM allergic reaction to a hair bleach that I've used for the past 5 years, I couldn't believe it! So please make sure you run a patch test if you attempt any part of this "How-to" -- even if you've used any of these products in the past!
Through the years I've been caramel blonde, platinum blonde, redhead, dark haired with various highlights, and lastly a look that I've liked the best, contrasting color blocked hair, especially in my fave Nuclear Red!  Here's a pic from when I first switched it up to the look that stuck (circa 2005) with one of my favorite buds, Kris (who is currently Cher's makeup artist, YES, THE CHER, for her Las Vegas show)...
(Btw, in case you were wondering, the teal in her hair is Special Effect's Fish Bowl)
Everything I use (in order from left to right):
-Nuclear Red from Special Effects
-Raven from Manic Panic
-Radical Bleach Kit from Beyond The Zone
-disposable gloves ( I use these snug blue ones, try to track these down, most gloves don't hug the wrist)
-hair foil (you could use household foil but you have to be careful, most of the times its too heavy and slips)
-disposable bowl

Steps to DIY...
1.  First off I section off the area of hair I want to dye. Also, I make sure that the area being bleached isn't super clean, I basically make sure if I'm dyeing it in morning I wash it the night prior, and if I'm bleaching it in the evening, I wash it in the morning (you want to make sure you've given your hair ample time to allow its natural oils to settle, if not, you're setting yourself up for breakage and/or scalp irritation).
2.  After mixing the bleach, I make sure to work rather quickly and cover the area I want to dye red later on. I make sure not to apply bleach too close to the scalp because once it starts to oxidize it spreads down the hair shaft. I try to bleach mini 1 inch sections at a time. Since this time around I had red tips, I bleached up to the red section remaining and after 40 minutes of wait time, I went back and bleached over the tips and waited about 10 minutes longer. Since the bleached area is going to get dyed, I don't bother waiting for the whole section to turn stark white, I aim for a light orange. You want to avoid re-bleaching areas that have been bleached prior, thus me hardly bleaching over the red tipped section, the more "bleach history" the more damage.

3.  While I wait for the bleach to develop I make sure that I clip the section together and layer some hair foil to catch any bleach that might drip. If your ear is starting to turn red like mine is in these pics, DON'T IGNORE IT, you're having an allergic reaction.
4.  After getting somewhat of a uniform color throughout the bleached section, I wash it out with my everyday shampoo. Normally I would condition the heck out of it since its freshly bleached, but since the Special Effects dye grasps better onto unconditioned hair, I skip the conditioning until after, plus the Vegan formula leaves it super conditioned. I try to let it air dry, but since I have naturally wavy hair, I speed up the process with a little blow dry with some cool air.
5.  Once its dry enough, I section it off again and apply a protective layer of either Vaseline or an extremely emollient lip conditioner, this helps you avoid any skin staining in the event any color bleeds or drips.

6.  Right after protecting the skin that borders my hairline, I lather the bleached section in Nuclear Red and the rest in Raven. I then section off the panels into buns and clip them in place, again, I encompass each bun in foil to keep things tidy. Since both formulas are Vegan and are semi-permanent, I recommend you leave them in overnight or for at least 4 hours to completely soak through your hair. When I leave mine in overnight I put a shower cap on and bag up my pillow LOL (I don't want to risk making my bed look like a murder scene).

7.  The next morning I simply wash my hair out when I shower. I make sure I use cool to room temperature water (think of how you use cold water to wash your dark clothes), that way I'm washing the dye out, not weakening the color. After shampooing I rinse out both sections separately (I tend to rinse out the red, then the black so they don't bleed into each other-this is probably the most annoying part about this process). After, I rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar which leaves hair super shiny, followed up by a DEEP CONDITIONING SESSION! My favorite conditioners are After Color Care by Satin for the black section and I mix it with Glam Street Glazes by Beyond The Zone for the red panel. I usually leave these conditioners in for at least 5 minutes while in the shower, on days where I haven't freshly dyed my hair, I use them as everyday conditioners. They can be found at your local beauty supply store and I love how the one by Satin leaves my hair in perfect shape and is so affordable! The salon size is cheaper than your average sized "hyped up" salon conditioner.

8.  Once I blow out my hair using my fave products, these are my results:
Alrightyyy!!! Thanks for staying awake through that one! Now when someone asks where I get my HAIR DID I can direct them here for the deets! haha Its quite annoying in this case to DIY, but trust me, its rewarding knowing you didn't over pay someone else to do it for you. I do recommend that you bleach your hair professionally if you've never tried it before, adding your favorite electric color afterwards is the easy part, Special Effects has so many rich hues!
