Happy Cyber Funday!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! For those that got their shop on, I hope you weren't tackled, frost-bitten, or pepper sprayed for simply trying to score some deals. (I hear it got uggg-ly out there!)
On this Cyber Monday, I wanted to share the first launch of my very own handmade line: WiCKED MOXiE!
CLICK ON THIS POSTING'S TITLE TO CHECK IT OUT! (there's more items to come in the future but perfection takes time, lol)
If you'd like to gift one or scoop one up for yourself, these coupon codes are valid until December 15th: HOLIDAYFREESHIPPING (for free shipping) & WICKEDMOXIE2011 (for 15% off!)
(pix near the bottom since this is the app & I can't format this)
I usually keep my brushes in my Inglot brush belt when they're clean, but I was sick of keeping the dirty/used ones in a coffee mug so I developed something with flare to store them in while I'm doing my makeup or while I'm with a client.
This glittered skull can be made in the color of your choice and is the perfect organizer for your makeup station, vanity, or office. Whether you are a huge fan of blinged out accessories or love anything reminiscent of "Dia De Los Muertos" this skull is the perfect combo of style and function. Your personal space will be complete with this touch of eccentric glam!
The skull measures roughly 5 inches in depth, 3.75 by 4.5 inches in width, and tapers towards the base. The inside is filled approximately a third of the way with acrylic black gems to help keep your makeup brushes, art utensils, or office supplies in order.
The inside is easy to clean and although full immersion is not recommended, the inside may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Like with any glittered product, one may find there might be a small amount of glitter specks that flake during its first couple of uses, but rest assured it was carefully constructed and there won't be any "bald" spots as a result.
If you have any questions regarding this item, please feel free to contact me!

Its been too long...
Poop! So I'm blogging from the Blogger App (which by miracle hasn't crashed long enough to write this)!
As summer came to an end, I told myself I'd commit to blogging more frequently...then my comp took matters into its own hands! My good ol' lappy caught the motherload of viruses and I haven't been able to go online, let alone blog from it for over almost 2 months. I didn't want to believe that perhaps Blogger had some crazy connection to it all, but it turned out that it does. Although most of the problems are gone, I'm literally scared to blog off of it!
To add to that, I think I've just fallen into an slump of technological bad luck: my "hand-me-down" iPhone receives/notifies me about calls/texts when it wants to : ) you've gotttta love it! So while I attempt to leave some Christmas shopping money for the new model, I'll settle for the bad taste I'm leaving in people's mouths for thinking I'm ignoring them. If you know me, then you should know I'm not doing it on purpose. (granted it seems to play Hanging With Friends just fine, so odd.. find me: theritzbitz!)
On the VERY brightside, I will be sharing some extraaaordinary items I've been working on that I will be selling on Etsy come this BLACK FRIDAY! Please stay tuned my fellow friends and makeup lovers and thanks for hanging in there! Off to continue starving myself 'til Thursday MmMmm...

First round of goodies for the BEAUTY portion of my BLOG SALE!
This section of my blog sale will continuously be updated, so stay posted--I'm a beauty product shopaholic!!
These items have been stashed away in my makeup kit, hair styling kit or beauty drawers. They are on sale on the MOXiE VANiTY page of my blog.
Whether they are still brand new in their box, tested out for a color swatch, or gently used, they are quite the bargain. Through the years my beauty collection has grown immensely. From gratis back when I worked for MAC, going nuts with different employee discounts, or purchasing products just because they were "limited edition" I need to think twice about what I store. If a product is used: it has been solely in my possession, only used on a clean face with a clean brush, sanitized after its use, and has never been swiped by a finger (when I see people do that to test out a product it makes me throw-up a little in my mouth)!
MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover
Sale price: $14.00
MAC Cremewash
Sale price: $12.00
MAC NAIL LACQUER in Gossamer *DISCONTINUED*
Sale Price: $5.00
MAC Sheerspark Pressed Powder in Warm Ice *LIMITED EDITION*

(Cue the False Lashes) My, What Big Eyes You Have!
Have you ever thought to yourself, "mannn, I just spent a good amount of time on my eye makeup, but what the heck is missing?"
LASHES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Seriously, take the extra time you are using to blend a bazillion shadows into oblivion and pop on some faux lashes. Lush lashes are the perfect way to amp up your look!
(taken with flash) I took this prior to blending the faux lash band with my own lashes using Ardell Lash Magic Blending Mascara, so you could see how I "flip" the middle part up a tad to open up the eye more. |
As for the eye products I used:
-NYX Eye Shadow Base in Natural (from lid to brow)
-Brows Dipdown Fluidline (for definition), Cork eyeshadow (for filler)
-Highlight just swished on some MAC Invisible Set Powder (there was already tons of shimmer going on!)
-Crease MAC Club eyeshadow
-Lid NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment
-Inner Lid a mixture of MAC Gorgeous Gold and Forgery eyeshadows
-Upper Liner NYC Liquid Liner in Black
-Lower Liner Graphic Brown Fluidline, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment, defined with Contrast eyeshadow
-Waterline MAC Humid eyeshadow
-Lashes Maybelline Waterproof One by One Mascara and Red Cherry Faux Lashes style #600
In the future I'll have to post on my favorite lashes out there and how I apply them (I promise you'll be able to pop 'em on at a stoplight! -you shouldn't if you're driving of course *wink, wink*) I've seen tons of awesome posts using everything from toothpicks to tweezers, my method's a smidge more straight forward I assure you! Happy lash batting!

Moxie BALLER On A Budget: GLAM STORAGE!
(please excuse this repost if you read it the first time, it was deleted when I was trying to fix my feed)
Alright guys, perhaps one day I will be able to shellac the west wing of my home in mirror tiles, or accent it with OVERPRICED furnishings from places like Z Gallery, but until then, its safe to say I have NO shame being a BALLER on a budget!I needed somewhere to stash away my skincare products, nail polish, cleaning supplies, and just stuff you don't need everyone that comes to checkout your new room to see, i.e. feminine hygiene shhtuff... Also, I don't have much extra room in my quarters, so I couldn't dedicate a wall to anything. I needed something that could store a bit, but stored it in height, not in width, like the shape of lingerie drawers, like the one pictured down below, but less "Mariah Carey" looking (no offense if you enjoy her music or her taste in uber girly things). Mind you the lingerie drawers in the collage below cost about $450 at their cheapest!
Behold, my Inspiration:
When I redid my room, I tried to make it as lofty looking as possible. I'd describe its decor as a "Rock Glam Modern" bedroom hahahh, I'm serious if you Google that, the images are drool worthy. Its walls are black, the furnishings are red, and there are hints of white here and there, topped off with a sexy damask-ish fluffy ginormous rug layering the floor like carpet.
So my end result was this:
Lovely right???? ...just nod... Let me show you how I created it for a grand total of about $95, a crap load of patience, and annoying meticulousness. Most def, the look for less!
What I used:

The steps I took:
1. I assembled the Helmer from Ikea, thank goodness I love putting stuff together because it came in million pieces. Check out this great YouTube timelapse showing all of the drama, I love the beer/wine bottle next to him on the floor!
3. Once the body was assembled, I waited to add the drawer fronts since I needed to shnazz them up! I used the mirror tile panels I purchased from Kit Krafts. I sliced them up with a X-Acto knife, leaving room to use a hole puncher for the drawer handles to be screwed on.
5. After spray painting the handles black so it wouldn't look like a filing cabinet, I screwed them on and added them to the drawers. For the larger drawer I only added 1 handle in the middle and mirrored up the rest. I used epoxy to hold the 3 door fronts together and then reinforced the back a little more with Mighty Putty.
I hope I've inspired at least one of you to try making your own GLAMified drawers. These totally beat keeping everything in those plastic pullout drawers, plus I hate how they aren't easy to keep clean!

Review: Essie Clearly Matte with Love and Beauty Nail Polish
All I have to say is I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Essie's Clearly Matte Topcoat. Its really hard for me to find a nail polish that actually stays on. It seems to make the polish color you're coating more saturated, in this case, it made Love and Beauty's Neon Pink, more neon! Essie polish can get a tad pricey to collect but I grabbed this one off of Hautelook's Rock and Republic Cosmetics sale. The ONLY con about this topcoat is that the layers get heavy, and it'll chip with a quickness once you wash your hair out or do anything around the house where you're putting more pressure than usual on your fingertips.
It gets 3.85 out of 5 Moxie kisses LoL, I'd recommend it more for some fab weekend nails!
Personally, OPI and Sally Hansen polishes have never worked out, they've always been a one way ticket to Chipsville. The only color on my nails that I've loved have been by MAC, Confetti, Wet and Wild, Island Girl, and Sinful Colors. In my opinion, in the 'nails did' department, you want to spend the big bucks on your topcoat and/or your base coat if your nails need it. When I was shopping the other day, an electric hot pink caught my eye. Forever 21's dabble in the cosmetics department has been getting pretty positive reviews. So far I've tried nail polish and faux lashes from them and love them both! With only two coats the color was vibrant. I would suggest everyone to check them out, at only $2.80 a pop, you can afford to have a whole rainbow in your bathroom cabinet!
It gets 5 out of 5 Moxie kisses, they come in every color and can last about a week!
*don't mind the choppy application, hahaaha* |

Get The Moxie Look: Latin GaGa
SO, I'm sitting on the couch relaxing with my sister, while my Godson is taking a long and extremely rare daytime nap...
Sis: *as we are catching up on our fave reality shows* So I was at work, and I saw this beautifully ethereal pic of the Gaga (we LOVE HER btw), I think its the look I want to do for this weekend's wedding...DO IT ON ME!
Me: OKAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! *as I pop up from the sofa, like someone said there's free MAC products in the kitchen* (mind you my sis pretty much OWNS in the beauty department, so I hardly get the chance to "paint her face" hahah)
First off, let me start by saying my sister usually falls under a NC35, Lady Gaga looks like she's naturally a C2/NC25, on the MAC skin spectrum, so certain products won't read the same on both. Here's what MAC suggests Gaga is wearing in her newest Viva Glam Ad:

On my sis, I ended up creating a more "wearable" look, being that she was thinking about wearing it out to a daytime wedding and she's a brunette. Since Gaga's Viva Glam 2 campaign launched I've seen a bazillion blog posts on this look, this is just my take on it.
What I used (all products MAC unless noted):
Face:
-Studio Moisture Fix mixed with Strobe Liquid
-Premium Triple Cream (around the eyes)
-Amazing Cosmetics Concealer (super blended)
-NO FOUNDATION, I hate her for her perfect skin! LMAO
-Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
Cheeks:
-Physicians Formula Powder Palette Bronzer (for contouring)
-Tenderling Blush throughout & Pinch O' Peach Blush (on the apples)
Eyes:
-Untitled Paint (from lid to brow)
-Brows Dipdown Fluidline (for definition), Cork eyeshadow (for filler)
-Highlight Brule eyeshadow, Mylar eyeshadow (tracing under the brow)
-Crease I mixed Girlie and Haux eyeshadows
-Lid NYX Cosmetics Eye Shadow Base in White, Gleam eyeshadow (scrapped off so its chunky)
-Inner Lid Vanilla Pigment
-Upper Liner NYC Liquid Liner in Black
-Lower Liner Graphic Brown Fluidline, Swiss Chocolate and Handwritten eyeshadows
-Waterline Fascinating Eye Kohl
-Lashes Cover Girl Lash Blast (she's a huge fan)
-Faux Lash #3 Lash stacked on the ends with Love & Beauty Full False Lashes (cut in half)
Lips:
-Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick
-Smashbox Lip Gloss in Champagne
Off to put some goodies together for my 100+ follower giveaway, thanks for all the love!

Holy Inglot Batman!
I just wanted to share some awesome news MOXiE Mavens! The stellar customer service department at Inglot contacted me to spread the news about the launch of their online store!!!!
I've always wanted to try Inglot, since I've heard to many great things about the line. Its one of the leading European makeup brands that has been successfully taking over new markets out here in the continental United States. The best way to describe them is if MAC and Illamasqua had a baby.
I have been drooling over their red (one my many favorite colors) brush belts, since I've replaced my MAC one twice already. I love that its patent leather, it makes it super easy to clean and sanitize! My MAC brush belt from the pro store always ends up crumbling up, chipping, and fading after about 2-3 years of wear, I can't wait to receive my new belt!!!
Another thing I wanted to share with you all is this AMAZING DEAL that popped into my inbox. Many of you are probably aware of BeautyTicket.com, but if your not, their deals are HOTTTT! This week's STEAL OF THE WEEK is insane, I can't believe I almost bought this with only my employee discount at Nordy's a few years back... OMG over $200 in savings!!!!! I have a full and professional airbrush compressor and products to go along with it, but ahhhhhhh, a gal should never pass up a ginormous steal! Click bellow to grab one before they sell out at this price:

Too cute, I want a million!
Ok, I know I'm behind on updating everything--I've been crazy busy and my health isn't where it should be, sooo blehhhh! j/k I just needed to take a bit of my day to rant and rave about PZP Creations.
Parisa Ziarati is the owner and the creative mind behind PZP Creations. I've known her since she was in the womb and have had the pleasure of watching her grow up and blossom into an incredible young adult. She recently created her own little shop on Etsy so her staple Kouture Hair Kisses and adorable crocheted creations could be easily available for purchase. I was prompted to right this up when she sent me pics of her latest custom order.
OMG! Isn't the little guy adorable???? In addition to these type of crocheted stuffed animals, her line of Kouture Hair Kisses hair adornments are pictured in the collage above. Christmas is right around the corner, and if you have someone on your list that needs a dose of cuteness in his or her life, hit up PZP Creations. I love how this MacGyver of the crochet world can make anything from beanies to blankets, she can dial it out by either hearing a description of the item requested or being inspired by a pic!

huh? Her WHAT is photoshopped?
Hey all! I don't know if this is me venting, merely expressing, knit-picking, who knows...maybe its the dash of "B" that's been brewing in me due to some added stress, but any-who, I've got a bit of bone to pick. I love looking at portfolios, whether its a collection of work put together by a model, photog, stylist, or designer, I love them all. I find others' work to be forms of inspiration, examples of what I need to add to my own portfolio, and sadly sometimes examples of what "not" to do. One thing that irks me is retouched photos when its meant to make one's work look better. grrr! I understand using ye olde Photoshop to take a few fly away hairs out of a model's face, or enhancing a subject so it comes out clearer, but altering a photo to improve one's quality of work, i.e., lying about the quality of one's skill, that's wiggity-wiggity whack...
Don't get me wrong, graphic designers themselves are artists, but I don't agree with an artist showcasing a photo of his work that CLEARLY makes them out to be amazing, when they are mediocre at best. I'm sure that people in other fields feel similar, like why should Jane the model work her bum off to get some killer abs, when Jenny's new shoot just came out and her pics show off her nonexistent perfect waist? I guess it all goes back to my cheating theory, gawhhhhh! LOL Like The Dirty's Nik Richie has said, "Photoshop is for liars."
Perfect examples:
As for household names that have been edited to look like what many strive to look like:
So ok, I'm done yapping for now. I guess its safe to say to expect anything published with a celeb attached to be switched up to be more aesthetically and sexually pleasing, but if you're trying to show off how astonishing your makeup or hair artistry skills are, if a pic in your portfolio's been edited, please note it! Hey, hey, I'm not being a hater, but wouldn't it suck to higher a makeup artist that couldn't blend, contour, use the proper primer, or line lips correctly when you needed them to?

How are you spending your Saturday?
There is nothing I enjoy doing more (haha, non-family, friends, bf related) than pounding some faces with makeup! The blending, lining, contouring, enhancing, beautifying, and basically helping someone feel like a million bucks is what keeps me going. Whether it be a fashion show or wedding day, I love meeting new people and being an essential part of his or her day...
With that in mind, aside from my clients in the morning, I will be joining MsBellezza Jewelry again for their last trunk show of the year. Stop by, say hi, mingle, check out some gorgeous bling, and leave with some Christmas shopping completed, sporting some luscious lips, and batting a fresh set of lashes! There is no cost to come party and OoooOo don't forget to RSVP for your chance at having an extra GRAND in your pocket this holiday season...
Here's more info that was sent out by Jen, MsBellezza's rocking "go to" gal:

Review: e.l.f. haul update (part 2/3)
Alrighty... I've had a little over a week to review some of the e.l.f. products I had purchased...
So far I've tried out the Studio High Definition Powder, Mineral Blending Brush, and the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, enough to write up a true review.
e.l.f. Studio HD Powder
I really like the packaging. I would never use the powder puff, but it serves as a great barrier to keep powder from slipping between the cracks when closed, I HATE THAT! The texture is ridiculously silky smooth! It is supposed to be great for all skin tones, but I would hesitate to use it on a client with a deeper skin tone than Beyonce (I usually use celebs as references for skin tones, versus foundation #s). It has no coverage whatsoever but it serves great as a "wearing makeup for about 5 hours max" setting powder. I would not recommend it for oily skin, mature skin, a humid environment, or if you plan on breaking into a heavy sweat. It is not oil/moisture absorbent and it tends to settle in even the finest of lines. Overall, it leaves skin with a natural satin finish. I will reach for it for clients that have annoyingly perfect skin, use as a sublte "bridal" cheek highlight, in place of a beauty powder (which I use to keep blush from getting blotchy), and for setting my makeup on any days when I'm only wearing it for a few hours.
e.l.f. Mineral Blending Brush
I was happily surprised by this brush! Normally I steer clear of discount priced makeup brushes. I believe finely made makeup brushes, along with their steep prices, pay for themselves in the long run. Just think, the more you have to replace one, the less money you can spend on new stuff! Like I said in my prior post, I ordered it because it appeared to be the little sister to MAC's #222 brush, but when I received it, it was more like the #217. It grabs product well, its made of synthetic brush fibers, its well made (I tried to take it apart under hot running water-I know that's pretty psycho, but if a brush comes apart under that test it sucks), and it has multiple uses. You can use it for detailed powder dusting, nose contouring, concealer, and blending. The handle is not very long (the longer the handle, the easier the blending) so you have to work a little harder on your blending, but it works great for defining and concentrating color in the crease. I think I am going to buy a million more, especially because softer brushes, especially white/cream colored ones, take FOREVER to dry.
I was most excited to try the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. I used the primer 5 separate occasions, we all know I'm a skeptic and I had to put it to the test!
Sorry about the crappy quality of these pics, my camera was ruined by a Red Bull spill in my purse. *tear* So I had to use my web cam that came standard on my laptop. These were taken in the wee hours of my insomnia-tic mornings, after about 12 hours of wear. I couldn't believe this discount primer lasted!

e.l.f. Studio HD Powder
It gets 3 out of 5 Moxie kisses and I'm still debating if I'd buy it again.

The first time 2 times I applied it with my #252 MAC Brush (the orange larger sized firm bristle brush), big mistake! It has a doe foot applicator (which does nothing in terms of helping you apply it smoothly), so I added three small gobs of it and spread it out with the #252. Both times I used MAC eyeshadow over it, if anything is going to crease or fade you are going to notice most on your eyelids, so besides my other shadows, I packed Melon Pigment (frosty finish) on the lid one day and Brule (satin finish) on the other. Come hour 3 or 4 the creasing began...bOOOoo! I still wanted to keep trying it out because it was easy to blend over and wasn't fast drying nor did it made my eyes look "parched" like Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I figured I had to buckle and use my finger to spread it out (I hate using my fingers around my lid, it makes for premature wrinkles), but I was super surprised the primer smoothed out easily and evenly. Over the next couple of tries I was truly impressed, who would have thought it would work well doing the whole finger thing instead of a brush? I have abnormal eyelids LoL they are extremely sensitive, they tend to be dry towards the inner lid and surface of the brow bone and can get pretty oily in the inner crease. I would recommend this primer for any occasion on eyes that don't tend to get oily, or for combination type of eyelids for days when you won't be in a humid environment or sweating. I absolutely love this for more mature eyes and will be using this on my clients. Its also great because my shadow didn't fade. If I was doing a super colorful and pigmented look, I would layer a creamier primer over it (primarily on the lid). When I used it, the longevity was just as awesome as my "go-to" primer MAC's Paint in Untitled. Best $3 I've ever spent!!
It gets 4.5 out of 5 Moxie kisses and like I said, I'm going to buy a million more!
I like to call this look the "Lazy Smokey Eye" LoL because its so easy and fast to do.
