Happy Cyber Funday!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! For those that got their shop on, I hope you weren't tackled, frost-bitten, or pepper sprayed for simply trying to score some deals. (I hear it got uggg-ly out there!)

On this Cyber Monday, I wanted to share the first launch of my very own handmade line: WiCKED MOXiE!

CLICK ON THIS POSTING'S TITLE TO CHECK IT OUT! (there's more items to come in the future but perfection takes time, lol)

If you'd like to gift one or scoop one up for yourself, these coupon codes are valid until December 15th: HOLIDAYFREESHIPPING (for free shipping) & WICKEDMOXIE2011 (for 15% off!)

(pix near the bottom since this is the app & I can't format this)

I usually keep my brushes in my Inglot brush belt when they're clean, but I was sick of keeping the dirty/used ones in a coffee mug so I developed something with flare to store them in while I'm doing my makeup or while I'm with a client.

This glittered skull can be made in the color of your choice and is the perfect organizer for your makeup station, vanity, or office. Whether you are a huge fan of blinged out accessories or love anything reminiscent of "Dia De Los Muertos" this skull is the perfect combo of style and function. Your personal space will be complete with this touch of eccentric glam!

The skull measures roughly 5 inches in depth, 3.75 by 4.5 inches in width, and tapers towards the base. The inside is filled approximately a third of the way with acrylic black gems to help keep your makeup brushes, art utensils, or office supplies in order.

The inside is easy to clean and although full immersion is not recommended, the inside may be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Like with any glittered product, one may find there might be a small amount of glitter specks that flake during its first couple of uses, but rest assured it was carefully constructed and there won't be any "bald" spots as a result.

If you have any questions regarding this item, please feel free to contact me!

Its been too long...

Poop! So I'm blogging from the Blogger App (which by miracle hasn't crashed long enough to write this)!

As summer came to an end, I told myself I'd commit to blogging more frequently...then my comp took matters into its own hands! My good ol' lappy caught the motherload of viruses and I haven't been able to go online, let alone blog from it for over almost 2 months. I didn't want to believe that perhaps Blogger had some crazy connection to it all, but it turned out that it does. Although most of the problems are gone, I'm literally scared to blog off of it!

To add to that, I think I've just fallen into an slump of technological bad luck: my "hand-me-down" iPhone receives/notifies me about calls/texts when it wants to : ) you've gotttta love it! So while I attempt to leave some Christmas shopping money for the new model, I'll settle for the bad taste I'm leaving in people's mouths for thinking I'm ignoring them. If you know me, then you should know I'm not doing it on purpose. (granted it seems to play Hanging With Friends just fine, so odd.. find me: theritzbitz!)

On the VERY brightside, I will be sharing some extraaaordinary items I've been working on that I will be selling on Etsy come this BLACK FRIDAY! Please stay tuned my fellow friends and makeup lovers and thanks for hanging in there! Off to continue starving myself 'til Thursday MmMmm...

First round of goodies for the BEAUTY portion of my BLOG SALE!

This section of my blog sale will continuously be updated, so stay posted--I'm a beauty product shopaholic!!

These items have been stashed away in my makeup kit, hair styling kit or beauty drawers. They are on sale on the MOXiE VANiTY page of my blog.

Whether they are still brand new in their box, tested out for a color swatch, or gently used, they are quite the bargain. Through the years my beauty collection has grown immensely. From gratis back when I worked for MAC, going nuts with different employee discounts, or purchasing products just because they were "limited edition" I need to think twice about what I store. If a product is used: it has been solely in my possession, only used on a clean face with a clean brush, sanitized after its use, and has never been swiped by a finger (when I see people do that to test out a product it makes me throw-up a little in my mouth)!

MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

Moxie FOTD: Rihanna-esque Clean Neutrals With a Kick!

I love me some
Ri-Ri! She's got some drool-worthy style and her makeup is always flawless. Most of the time she's rockin' a cleanly blended look, fairly simple, a dash of color here and there, topped with her signature cat-eye liner and faux lashes.

Don't get me wrong, I love when she sports a bright or dark/edgy smoky eye, but let's be real, you'll look pretty odd meeting up your Boo for a walk in the park looking like you stepped out of her S&M vid! With that in mind, today I dolled up in some natural shades, added some spice with a bit of bright yellow, and was on my way...

What I Used:
Eyes
-Base MAC Painterly Paint Pot (from lid to brow)
-Brows MAC Dipdown Fluidline (for definition) & Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow (for a more reddish tone)
-Rock & Republic eyeshadow in Ambition swished, NOT packed from the inner crease to the brow bone
-Crease MAC Tete-A-Tint eyeshadow
-MAC Canary Yellow eyeshadow packed on the inner third of the eye
-Upper Liner MAC Boot Black liquid liner
-Lower Liner Rock & Republic eyeshadow in Ambition on the inner half, MAC Knight Divine on the outer half
-Lashes Maybelline One by One Waterproof Mascara & MAC faux lashes in style #2

Here's two of the many pics of the red-headed beauty flaunting natural yet amped up looks:

Remember neutral doesn't always have to be boring!

(Cue the False Lashes) My, What Big Eyes You Have!

Have you ever thought to yourself, "mannn, I just spent a good amount of time on my eye makeup, but what the heck is missing?"

LASHES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Seriously, take the extra time you are using to blend a bazillion shadows into oblivion and pop on some faux lashes. Lush lashes are the perfect way to amp up your look!
(taken with flash) I took this prior to blending the faux lash band with my own lashes using
Ardell Lash Magic Blending Mascara, so you could see how I "flip" the middle part up a tad to open up the eye more.
When I'm feeling like I want an EXTRA oomph I double them up-yes-I double stack them (I tend to do this with my bridal clients. When the right pairs are stacked, you get lashes that flirt with the whole room every time you blink!)
As for the eye products I used:
-NYX Eye Shadow Base in Natural (from lid to brow)
-Brows Dipdown Fluidline (for definition), Cork eyeshadow (for filler)
-Highlight just swished on some MAC Invisible Set Powder (there was already tons of shimmer going on!)
-Crease MAC Club eyeshadow
-Lid NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment
-Inner Lid a mixture of MAC Gorgeous Gold and Forgery eyeshadows
-Upper Liner NYC Liquid Liner in Black
-Lower Liner Graphic Brown Fluidline, set with MAC Old Gold Pigment, defined with Contrast eyeshadow
-Waterline MAC Humid eyeshadow
-Lashes Maybelline Waterproof One by One Mascara and Red Cherry Faux Lashes style #600

In the future I'll have to post on my favorite lashes out there and how I apply them (I promise you'll be able to pop 'em on at a stoplight! -you shouldn't if you're driving of course *wink, wink*) I've seen tons of awesome posts using everything from toothpicks to tweezers, my method's a smidge more straight forward I assure you! Happy lash batting!

Moxie BALLER On A Budget: GLAM STORAGE!

(please excuse this repost if you read it the first time, it was deleted when I was trying to fix my feed)
Alright guys, perhaps one day I will be able to shellac the west wing of my home in mirror tiles, or accent it with OVERPRICED furnishings from places like Z Gallery, but until then, its safe to say I have NO shame being a BALLER on a budget!

I needed somewhere to stash away my skincare products, nail polish, cleaning supplies, and just stuff you don't need everyone that comes to checkout your new room to see, i.e. feminine hygiene shhtuff... Also, I don't have much extra room in my quarters, so I couldn't dedicate a wall to anything. I needed something that could store a bit, but stored it in height, not in width, like the shape of lingerie drawers, like the one pictured down below, but less "Mariah Carey" looking (no offense if you enjoy her music or her taste in uber girly things). Mind you the lingerie drawers in the collage below cost about $450 at their cheapest!
Behold, my Inspiration:
When I redid my room, I tried to make it as lofty looking as possible. I'd describe its decor as a "Rock Glam Modern" bedroom hahahh, I'm serious if you Google that, the images are drool worthy. Its walls are black, the furnishings are red, and there are hints of white here and there, topped off with a sexy damask-ish fluffy ginormous rug layering the floor like carpet.
So my end result was this:

Lovely right???? ...just nod... Let me show you how I created it for a grand total of about $95, a crap load of patience, and annoying meticulousness. Most def, the look for less!
What I used:
The steps I took:
1. I assembled the Helmer from Ikea, thank goodness I love putting stuff together because it came in million pieces. Check out this great YouTube timelapse showing all of the drama, I love the beer/wine bottle next to him on the floor!
2. Instead of building all 6 drawers I needed the last set to be tweaked with a tad so I could fit a couple of products upright. I took the tallest product and figured I had to combine 3 drawers as you can see to the right.    -------->
3. Once the body was assembled, I waited to add the drawer fronts since I needed to shnazz them up! I used the mirror tile panels I purchased from Kit Krafts. I sliced them up with a X-Acto knife, leaving room to use a hole puncher for the drawer handles to be screwed on.
4. Once all that jazz was done, I carefully applied the panels. I honestly thought it was going to be easy, but I was sooo wrong, I might as well have applied them tile by tile! I had to slice them up in even smaller panels to make sure they lined up right and when I got to the larger drawer I had to cut many of them down to singles in some areas!
5. After spray painting the handles black so it wouldn't look like a filing cabinet, I screwed them on and added them to the drawers. For the larger drawer I only added 1 handle in the middle and mirrored up the rest. I used epoxy to hold the 3 door fronts together and then reinforced the back a little more with Mighty Putty.

I hope I've inspired at least one of you to try making your own GLAMified drawers. These totally beat keeping everything in those plastic pullout drawers, plus I hate how they aren't easy to keep clean!
